Understanding Dental Bridges: An Overview

At Comprehensive Dental Care, we’re committed to helping our patients achieve the smile they’ve always wanted. One way we do this is through the use of dental bridges. Dental bridges are a popular solution for those missing one or more teeth. They quite literally bridge the gap where teeth are missing. Designed to match your natural teeth, bridges are made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap and a false tooth/teeth in between.

Dr. Mariya Bodnar, our experienced dentist at Comprehensive Dental Care, takes a meticulous approach to designing and fitting dental bridges. Every bridge is custom-made to ensure it fits perfectly and blends seamlessly with your existing teeth. With a dental bridge from Comprehensive Dental Care, not only will you regain the full functionality of your teeth, but you will also restore your confidence with a complete, natural-looking smile.

The Process of Getting Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth and restore a beautiful smile. A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic dental device that is used to fill the space left by a missing tooth. The bridge consists of two or more crowns which are placed on the teeth adjacent to the gap, and a false tooth is placed in the middle. At Comprehensive Dental Care, our experienced dentist, Dr. Mariya Bodnar, will evaluate the patient’s mouth in order to determine the best course of action for the bridge.

The bridge procedure usually takes two visits to complete. On the first visit, the teeth adjacent to the gap are prepared for the bridge by removing a portion of the enamel. Impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to a dental laboratory to fabricate the bridge. A temporary bridge is placed to protect the exposed teeth and gums until the permanent bridge is ready. On the second visit, the bridge is fitted and secured with a special dental cement. The bridge is then polished and adjusted for a comfortable fit. Dental bridges are a great way to restore a beautiful smile and the process is quick and easy.

Maintenance and Care for Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth and restore your mouth to its full function. Dr. John Wiles at Brush Dental specializes in the placement of dental bridges to improve your smile and your oral health. Dental bridges are made up of two crowns that fit on either side of the gap left by a missing tooth and are connected by a false tooth, known as a pontic. This pontic is designed to look and function just like a real tooth.

At Brush Dental, Dr. John Wiles is highly experienced in the placement of dental bridges and will ensure that your bridge is customized to fit your mouth. He will first take an impression of your mouth to create a model of your teeth. This model will be used to create a bridge that is the correct size and shape to fit your mouth. Once the bridge is ready, Dr. Wiles will place it in your mouth and make any necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. With proper care and maintenance, your dental bridge can last for years.

Different Types of Dental Bridges: Which One is Right for You?

Dental bridges are a great way to replace one or more missing teeth. There are several types of bridges, including traditional, cantilever, Maryland, and implant-supported bridges. Each type of bridge has its own unique advantages and disadvantages.

Traditional bridges involve the use of two crowns that are attached to the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. The false tooth is then placed between the two crowns and cemented into place. Cantilever bridges involve the use of one crown that is attached to the tooth on one side of the missing tooth. The false tooth is then attached to the crown and cemented into place.

Maryland bridges are made up of a false tooth that is attached to a metal or porcelain framework. The framework is then bonded to the back of the adjacent teeth. Implant-supported bridges involve the use of dental implants to secure the bridge in place.

Your dentist can help you decide which type of bridge is right for you. They will take into account factors such as the number of missing teeth, the location of the missing teeth, and the strength of the surrounding teeth. I was referred here and from day one, i had a great experience. The front desk ladies were very kind and caring. only issue i had was there lack of not returning calls. i had left several messages and no returns but yet they did answer my call once i was able to talk with someone. The lady who answered was kind and apologized to me.Dr. Colson did my extractions on January 3, 2025, and he was very kind, gentle and patient. I was a bit nervous but he and his dental assistant made me feel comfortable and assured that they had my interest at heart first. I was in no pain nor discomfort .No more than the usual pressure that comes with tooth extractions, etc.....Thank you for taking care of my dental needs.I highly recommend this office. Just be patient but they do great work.God Bless,Sheila Hilliard

I would like to commend the front office staff. They are intelligent and caring. I had an issue with out of network insurance that they caught BEFORE I had service. With Dominique's help, we were able to resolve the issue. Keep up the great work!

This dentist place is not good. They make you wait for hours and hours. The doctor is not responsible he just sits while there is people waiting. They did a job on my teeth and instead of fixing it they messed my teeth by breaking the tooth in half. At the end of waiting for hours they never called me or anything.

If I could rate it lower I would. The absolute worst!!! Unprofessional and rude. Will have you waiting for hours while you are the only one in the waiting room. And don’t ask how much longer. Just got looked at funny and rolled her eyes. Then get told after going back that I have come back at another day to complete what they scheduled me for. Stay away from this place.

Myself and 3 children had a great experience from start to finish. I’ve never had a dental office allow me to schedule 3 appointments at the same time for each individual child. When we first arrived, both ladies greeted us with smiles and promptly checked us in. Our wait time was approximately 8 minutes before my children were walked to the back by a dental assistant who greeted each of my children by name. After each child came from the back they were walked out with a dental assistant who came to me and told me everything went well, and that another for them will be made. I greatly appreciated the entire staff there. Great great staff, and great great service. This will be our family dentist office. Thank you everyone for taking great care of my kids!
